Bye guys!
I just wanted to say how sorry I am for not having a goodbye dinner with all of you. I would have loved to say goodbye one last time but because I always leave things to the last minute I miss doing some things. But I would like to thank all of you who helped me get to where I am right now. Wish me luck in Taiwan! Bye everyone!

New Intern from Poland for Mid-October!

Anna Misiura is our new intern slated to arrive October 14th, working for the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary...
Hello there!!
Big hug from smoky Amsterdam! I’m a new trainee arriving in mid October to cooooold Calgary?? (I do hope so much I’m wrong abt it!) I’m almost done here with my Dutch Aiesec experience and am really looking forward to meet the Aiesec crowd over in Canada.
There’s nothing better than having a good company while freezing with -40, true? I’d love to meet you guys and treat with pierogi on a house warming party - once I arrive (and actually find a place, hehe, thumbs up for the food). I’m a fresh grad from Poland, I’m going to spend the winter in Calgary on Aiesec internship with Haskayne School of Business.
I’ll soon say Hi to you again, till then - chau chau! Xoxo ;)
Anna

Bye bye bye for a SN
WARNING: Due to fight plans Abner will be leaving on Wednesday and wishes to spend the last night in Calgary with his family. So the DINNER is cancelled. :(
2 Lives A Changing
Our SN Diana Tran got match with a company named Oputo Triode Co. in Japan.
While Carlson Hui got match with one of AIESEC International's partners, ABN AMBRO in the Netherlands.
Congrats to both of them. I know for a fact that they worked hard to match themselves and deserve a round of applause for thier dedication. Thanks.

Needs more Red
Map #1
Map #2
hey all,
I came across this interesting website ot Harshi's blog that lets you see a visual of how much of the world you have seen. In map #1 I plotted the countries I have actually been to, and in map #2 I plotted the countries that my friends have lived in, worked in and come from. As Harshi said we all need to aspire to expand the countries we have seen, but at least by interacting with interns, going on exchange, and taking part in AIESEC we can have some exposure to the ones we have not ben to... yet.
If you would like to make your own map go to http://douweosinga.com/projects/visitedcountries.
Talk to you soon,
Liz

GuluWalk Calgary
GuluWalk is being held on October 21 at 5:00 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre in Kensington (1133 Kensington Road NW). Can you please forward this to your distribution list at the International Students Centre so that interested students can join us at the walk? Students can sign up for the walk (it's free) by clicking on http://www.guluwalk.com/.
Here is some background on the crisis in Uganda and why GuluWalk is important:
Uganda has been in a 20-year war, and the victims of the war are children. Each night, these displaced children must walk over 10 kilometres to camps, or face enslavement, torture and rape from the militant army. Even these 'safe' camps in which the children sleep are unsanitary and lack clean water, food and medical care.
GuluWalk is being held in 70 countries to tell the children's story and to fundraise in support of children’s programs that focus on education, rehabilitation and youth outreach, for this generation being left behind.
For more information and to sign up for the walk, please visit:
http://www.guluwalk.com/.
I also encourage you to watch this 60 second video on what the children in Uganda are facing:
