Ugly

Wow, that was a brutal night for sports fans in Alberta. I’m not sure what else to say about the matter.

Best of luck to Mess and Harshitha in Toronto and to those going to NLDC. Bring me back something nice.

Welcome to Calgary!!

Roughly 300!! ... that was the final count after the official MD/ICX wing night yesterday night! (yes, OGX and ER were there too ... but do they really count? =P) AND as if that wasn't enough our newest intern TIM arrived yesterday!!! Picking him up at the airport was an adventure in itself ... I might be a little biased, but I believe that 2-Man baggage cart racing will soon become an Olympic sport!

WELCOME TO CALGARY TIM!!!

It's the Place to Be

For those who envision being hungry at around 4 pm on Thursday, do I have an event for you:

Kent and Magi’s One-time Only BBQ Extravaganza

All you need to do is bring your own piece of BBQ’ing goodness and it’ll be cooked right before your eyes.

Worried about carrying marinated meat through the beer gardens?  Don’t worry.  There is a Safeway 3 minutes away and you’re welcome to drop off anything beforehand.

Not sure if you’ll be able to stumble to my house?  No problem.  It’s only a 10 minute walk from the beer gardens.

The address is: 2604 Cherokee Dr NW (first right after the lights at Safeway…5 houses down on the left).

No need to RSVP…just show up in whatever state of inebriation you happen to be in at the time.

My number is 210-2944, should you have any questions.

Need some INSPIRATION

Hi Guys,

I was trying to find a quote for myself that would describe who I am. Can you help me out if you know any inspirational quotes? They don't necessarily need to be for me, they could even be ones that you live by, or ones that you find motivational. I'm just in that philisophical mood... you know?

Location of the Kent's Culture Night

Hey all,

The Indian Culture night will be at my house (Liz from MD), but you don't get to find out where that is until you RSVP to Kent. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we are really sticking to only 30 people for this event because of the massive amount of food preparation that is involved. I will give you a hint, I live near Kensington, so it is nice and central, and easy to get to. Remember reserve your spot fast because space is limited, and there is going to be tons of great, authentic food.

You can RSVP by commenting on the post below (title Namaste) or by signing up at the AIESEC office.

Talk to you soon,
Liz

Namaste

Where: A Secret
What: Indian Culture Night
Who: Me
When: Saturday, April 8th at 7 PM
Why: Because I have to

If y’all are interested in getting a taste of Indian food that isn’t called butter chicken or naan, come out to my Indian culture night. We’ll be sampling dhaba (Punjabi café) specialities, drinking chai, dancing bhangra, listening to story time, looking at videos and pictures, and finishing off the night with a Bollywood movie that was partially filmed in Calgary.

We may have to switch back to Canadian culture during the Flames-Canucks game…unless we can find some cricket to watch.

So, RSVP by commenting on this post or by signing up at the AIESEC office. The first 30 people will be allowed in, so hurry up. The location will be announced closer to this Saturday.

And be warned…NO ALCOHOL WILL BE CONSUMED AT THIS PARTY. That may hurt the scandal factor and warrant a lot of slack from Carleton, but it’s not how I roll.
